The sweep gas can be selected from the lists of registered pure components or stock mixtures. The gas flowrate and the duration of the operation are specified by the user. The amount of gas consumed is calculated from the sweep flowrate and process time of the operation. Ideal gas behavior is assumed for converting gas volumetric flowrate to mass flowrate.
This operation may result in VOC emissions if volatile compounds are present in the vessel; for more details, see Chapter 10 (Emissions).
