Main Toolbar

 

Starts a new design case in a separate worksheet (view). Will prompt you to decide if the new design case will be operating in batch or continuous mode. For more see Start New Design Case File command.

Will open an existing design case file in a separate worksheet (view). Will bring up the Open File dialog. You can select multiple file to open the all at once. For more see Open an Existing Design Case File command.  

Will save the active design case to its current file name and directory. If the design case hasn’t  been saved before will bring up the File Save As dialog. For more see Save a Design Case command.

Will save all the open design cases into their current file name and directories. If an open design case has not been saved before it will bring up the File Save As. For more see Save All Open Design Cases command.

Will erase from the flowsheet the selected item(s) irreversibly. It is active only if any items are selected. For more see Clear command.

Will remove from the flowsheet the selected item(s) and place a copy into the clipboard, so that they can be pasted elsewhere. It is active only if any items are selected. For more see Cut to Clipboard command.

Will place a copy of the selected item(s) to the clipboard so that they can be later pasted elsewhere. It is active only if any items are selected. For more see Copy to Clipboard command.

Will paste the contents of the clipboard into the flowsheet. The items are pasted in a location such that their enclosing rectangle is centered around the last mouse click (prior to the paste command). For more see Paste command

Will allow the user to restore the file to a previously recorded state. See also Undoing and Redoing.

Will allow the user to restore the file to a later recorded state. See also Undoing and Redoing.

Places the mouse in Select Mode. In this mode, mouse clicks are used to select (or if the CTRL key is down, add to the selection) an item (unit procedure, stream, etc.)

Places the mouse in Connect Mode. In this mode, mouse clicks are used to start connection streams (if they occur over an output port and before a stream’s drawing has started) or create elbows of connection streams (if they happen after the stream drawing has started). For more on how to create streams, see Stream Drawing (Chapter 4 of manual).

Will start the Mass & Energy (M&E) Balance calculations (simulation) (F9). See also  Solve M&E Balances Command.

Will perform the economic calculations (Shift + F9). See also Perform Economic Calculations Command.

Will show (if the toolbar is not visible) or hide (if the toolbar is visible) the visual objects toolbar (see Visual Objects toolbar.) With that toolbar you enhance the appearance of the flowsheet by adding rectangle boxes, ellipses, comments, etc. See also Visual Objects Toolbar Command.

Will show or hide the process explorer registry toolbar (see Process Explorer). This toolbar displays in tree form all the resources registered in the current process. See also Process Explorer Toolbar Command.

Will show or hide the overview (navigation) window (see Overview (Navigation) Window). You can use this window to see an overview of the entire flowsheet drawing, and quickly change the area viewed currently in the active worksheet. See also Overview Navigator Command.

Will show or hide the stream summary table (see Stream Summary Table).  This table displays a set of user-selected stream properties for a set of user-selected streams. See also Stream Summary Table Command.

Will show or hide the error output table (see Error Output). This table shows any errors or warnings produced during the use of the ProDesigner application. See also View Error Output Toolbar Command.

Will show or hide the simulation control toolbar (see Simulation Control Toolbar). Once the simulation has been paused by a user-set solution breakpoint (see Breakpoints in a Unit Procedure). From this toolbar you can control how the simulation should proceed. See also Simulation Control Toolbar Command.

Will show or hide the Process Library interfaces (see Process Library Toolbar). See also Toggle the Process Library Interface Command.

Will initiate the printing process for the currently active flowsheet. Will bring up the usual "Print Dialog" that allows you to select a printer, set printer options, etc. See also Print Command.

Will put the cursor in the "What-Is" help mode. Click on this button and then on any item of the interface (menu, button, toolbar, etc.) to bring up a related help topic. The best way to interactively discover new features of Pro-Designer! See also Help Topics Command.

Will bring up version information about your current installation of Pro-Designer. See About Command.
