Ion Exchange Procedure (for Demineralization)

Overview

An Ion Exchange Procedure (for Demineralization) can be created by selecting the following menu option:
Unit Procedures } Chromatography/Adsorption } Ion Exchange (for demineralization)

	Operating Mode	Batch/Semi-Continuous
	Host Equipment	Ion Exchange (INX) Chromatography Column
	Emissions Port (Vent)	No
	Special Input/Output Ports	Yes

This unit procedure simulates removal of ionic species from water streams (demineralization). It can be used to model cation, anion, as well as mixed-bed ion exchange columns.

Special Inputs / Outputs

●      Backwash: the designated input port for the backwash stream.

●      Wash Output: the designated output port for the backwash stream.
