Dead End Filtration Procedure

Overview

A Dead End Filtration Procedure can be created by selecting the following menu option:
Unit Procedures } Filtration } Dead End Filtration

	Operating Mode	Batch/Semi-Continuous
	Host Equipment	Dead End Filter
	Emissions Port (Vent)	No
	Special Input/Output Ports	Yes

Dead end filtration is usually a polishing step. In bioprocessing, it is commonly used after centrifugation or before a chromatography unit. In water purification, it usually precedes ultrafiltration.

Special Inputs / Outputs

●      Retentate: the designated output port for the retentate.
