Operating Mode

Continuous or Semi-Continuous

Host Equipment

Gas Cyclone

Emissions Port (Vent)

No

Special Input/Output Ports

Yes

This unit procedure simulates removal of particulate components from gaseous streams using a cyclone. Given the particle size distribution of the feed stream or the removal efficiency for each particulate component and the velocity of the entering air, this unit operation model calculates the flowrate and composition of the exit streams, as well as the dimensions of the cyclone and its operating pressure drop.

Special Inputs / Outputs

Purified Product: the designated output port for purified product.

Particles: the designated output port for particles.
