This unit procedure is used to simulate sludge dewatering or fruit juice extraction by mechanical expression in a screw press. The material balances are based on the retained percentage of suspended solids in the cake and the total suspended solids content of the cake.
● Feed: the designated input port for the feed stream.
● Cake: the designated output port for the cake stream.
● Filtrate: the designated output port for the filtrate stream.
The following operation types are currently supported in the context of this unit procedure:

Note that procedure Hold is only available in semi-continuous operating mode.
