Flash Evaporation Procedure

Overview

A Flash Evaporation Procedure can be created by selecting the following menu option:
Unit Procedures } Phase Change } Flash Evaporation

	Operating Mode	Continuous or Semi-Continuous
	Host Equipment	Flash Drum
	Emissions Port (Vent)	No
	Special Input/Output Ports	Yes

This unit procedure simulates separation of volatile compounds in a Flash Drum. Several thermodynamic model options are available for handling the VLE calculations.

Special Inputs / Outputs

●      Vapor Output: the designated output port for vapor.

●      Liquid Output: the designated output port for liquid.

Operations

The following operation types are currently supported in the context of this unit procedure:

●      Flash, see Flash Evaporation

●      CIP, see Clean-In-Place (CIP)

●      Hold, see Holding

●      SIP, see Steam-In-Place (SIP)

Note that operations CIP, Hold, and SIP are only available in semi-continuous operating mode.
