This tab appears on the interface dialog of the Hydrocylone (see Hydrocyclone) when the option to size the equipment based on throughput is selected through the corresponding Equipment tab (see Hydrocyclone: Equipment Tab) and also the option to ignore the geometry is not checked on the same tab.
The following table shows the meaning of the variables appearing in this tab, as well as their default values and their generally acceptable range. Note that due to the manner by which the variables are used by the sizing and costing equations, the range of acceptable values may be further reduced.

Select one of the available standard geometries (i.e., sets of optimum geometric proportions relative to the body diameter published in the literature).
If this option is checked, you can customize the geometric proportions of the standard geometry.
If this option is checked, you can specify the ratio of inlet height to body diameter of the rectangular inlet and the program will calculate the ratio of inlet width to body diameter, as well as the inlet height and inlet width of the rectangular inlet. If this option is not checked, the program will calculate the area-equivalent inlet diameter based on the ratio of the area-equivalent inlet diameter to the body diameter.
Based on the body diameter and on the geometric proportions of the selected geometry related to the body diameter, the program calculates the inlet diameter, underflow diameter, overflow diameter, vortex finder length and cyclone length. If the inlet is rectangular, the user must also specify the ratio of inlet height to body diameter and the program also calculates the inlet height and inlet width.
