Consumables Currently Used by the Process Dialog
ConsumablesListDlg.jpg

This dialog appears when you select Tasks } Other Resources } Consumables from the main menu of the application or Resources } Consumables from the flowsheet’s command menu.

This list presents all the consumables that are currently used by equipment in the process. Select a consumable (will show as highlighted row) and then click the View/Edit button (ViewEditProperties00068.jpg) at the top-right of the table or double-click on the row. You will be presented with a dialog that allows you to edit the properties of the selected consumable. Clicking on the View Locations Used button (ViewLocationsUsed00069.jpg) will present you with a dialog which shows where exactly the consumable is utilized in the process. From that dialog you can edit the purchase price and disposal cost as well as the consumable lifespan. For more details, see Consumable Properties Dialog and Locations where Consumables are Used Dialog.

It is possible that a consumable type listed in this table, does NOT exist in your databank. Possibly it used to exist in your ‘SuperPro (User)’ database and it is now deleted, or you may be viewing a process model created by someone else and the original definition of that consumable type exists in his/her ‘SuperPro (User)’ database. If that is the case, and you wish to keep a definition in your ‘SuperPro (User)’ database for future use in other projects, you can deposit the consumable type in your databank (see Notes (e) below).

NOTES:

a)  Note that any changes in the properties of a consumable through this dialog, will only affect the local copy of its definition in the process file and they will not be reflected in the values stored in the ‘User’ portion of the consumables type databank or in any other process files that utilizes the same type of consumable.

b)  You cannot explicitly add or delete consumable types to this list. A new entry is automatically added in this list as soon as that consumable type is engaged (for the first time) by an operation. It is also automatically deleted from this table, as soon as a consumable type is no longer engaged in any operation in this process model. If you wish to introduce a new consumable type to be used by your model, you should introduce the new consumable type in your consumable databank first, then engage it in your model (see Consumables Databank).

c)   If you have modified the properties of a consumable type and you wish to update its database record based on its current values, then click on the Update Record in DB button (UpdToDBBtn00071.jpg). This will make the record kept in the database identical to the values as it now exists in your process file. If the selected consumable type does NOT exist in your consumable databank, this button will be disabled. In order to keep a copy of this consumable type in your databank, you must export its definition to the databank (see Note (e) below).

d)  If you have modified the properties of a consumable type and you wish to reset its values to how they exist in your databank, then click on the Update Properties from DB Record button (UpdFromDBBtn00072.jpg). This will refresh the values of the consumable type local definition (in the process file) to match the values of the consumable type as they exist in the database. If a record of this consumable type does not exist in your databank, this button will be disabled.

e)  If a selected consumable type does NOT exist in your databank (either it used to exist and later deleted, or it was never defined there as the process model was created by someone else), you can export and keep a definition of this consumable type in your databank by clicking on the Export to DB button (DepositButton00073.jpg). Please note that this button will be active, even if a consumable type with that name already exists in your databank. In that case, you will get a chance to introduce a new record in the databank for this consumable type, but under a different name. This option is useful if you have modified the properties of a consumable type as they existed in the databank, and you wish to keep the modified version of the consumable type as well as the original.
