Operating Mode

Continuous or Semi-Continuous

Host Equipment

Raceway Pond

Emissions Port (Vent)

Yes

Special Input/Output Ports

Yes

This procedure is used to represent a sequence of continuous reactions (photo-bio-transformations) that take place in a Raceway Pond and which are described by stoichiometry.

Special Inputs / Outputs

Feed: the designated input port for the feed stream.

Gas Inlet: the designated input port for the source of gas.

Gas Outlet: the designated output port for VOC emissions.

Product: the designated output port for the reaction products.

Operations

The following operation types are currently supported in the context of this unit procedure:

React (Stoichiometric), see Continuous Stoichiometric Photobioreaction

      CIP, see Clean-In-Place (CIP)

      Hold, see Holding

      SIP, see Steam-In-Place (SIP)

Note that operations CIP, Hold, and SIP are only available in semi-continuous operating mode.
