Freeze Drying Procedure (Discrete)

Overview

A Freeze Drying Procedure (Discrete) can be created by selecting the following menu option:
Unit Procedures } Drying/Granulation } Freeze (Discrete)

	Operating Mode	Batch/Semi-Continuous
	Host Equipment	Discrete Freeze Dryer
	Emissions Port (Vent)	No
	Special Input/Output Ports	Yes

This unit procedure simulates drying of heat sensitive materials (such as proteins and vitamins) present in vials or other containers, in a Discrete Freeze Dryer. Freeze drying (also known as lyophilization) is common in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and food industries.

Special Inputs / Outputs

●      Vapor: the designated output port for vapor.

●      Output: the designated output port for the product stream.
