This property page is part of the Electrowinning Cell equipment data dialog.

Specification Choices / Comments

The top part of the interface refers to the required consumable usage of the Electrowinning Cell. The required consumable type is the ‘Electrode’. The user can choose among the consumables of this type registered in the user databank. Consumable related properties, such as the type of electrode (cathode, anode or electrode pair) are displayed on the left-hand side. Cost/usage related properties are displayed on the right-hand side. The user can change the usage properties, specifically the replacement frequency of the consumable. All other properties should be changed from the Consumables Databank Dialog.

The bottom part of the dialog (the ‘Other Consumables’ table), refers to additional consumables, and it is the same as for any other equipment (see Equipment Data Dialog: Consumables Tab).

For the Electrowinning Cell, in particular, the following rules apply:

If the selected “Electrode” consumable is of the cathode type, then in the “Other Consumables” table you can only add one extra “Electrode” consumable, provided that it is an electrode of the anode type. If there is an “Electrode” consumable of the anode type in the “Other Consumables” table, then the program will automatically calculate the consumption rate of that consumable (which is specified by default in items per equipment unit) to be the same as the number of anodes. The latter is calculated by simply adding the specified (Number of Anodes - Number of Cathodes) value to the Number of Cathodes.

If the selected “Electrode” consumable is of the anode type, then in the “Other Consumables” table you can only add one extra “Electrode” consumable, provided that it is an electrode of the cathode type. If there is an “Electrode” consumable of the cathode type in the “Other Consumables” table, then the program will automatically calculate the consumption rate of that consumable (which is specified by default in items per equipment unit) to be the same as the Number of Cathodes.

If the selected “Electrode” consumable is of the electrode pair type, then the “Other Consumables” table must not contain any other consumables of the “Electrode” type.
