Variable Definitions, Ranges and Default Values

The following table shows a brief description of the variables appearing in this tab. The table also displays their default values and their generally acceptable range:

Variable

Default Value

Range

Resin Binding Capacity (mg/ml)
The maximum mass that can bind to the resin volume.

10.0

Positive

Binding %
The amount of a component that binds to the resin expressed as percentage of its inlet mass.

0.0

0 – 100

Yield %

0.0

0 – 100

Ignore in Sizing?
Check the box next to a component to ignore the binding percentage of that component in equipment sizing calculations.

Specification Choices / Comments

The following list describes the available specification choices in this tab; for more details on how these are implemented, see EBA Column Loading: Modeling Calculations.

Binding Capacity...

It refers to all components that bind to the resin. The Recovery Yield represents the percentage of bound material that ends up in the product stream.
